Intel and Total Immersion are working together to integrate the latter firm's augmented reality (AR) technology with the chip giant's microprocessors, according to Reuters. Total Immersion marketing chief Antoine Brachet, speaking this week at the Reuters Global Media Summit in New York, said features like gesture recognition could be part of Intel's chipsets within two to three years.
"What we are doing together with Intel is working on their chipset ... so inside the chipset you can have some AR features, like gesture recognition that can be transferred from software to hardware," Brachet said, according to the news agency.
