AMD's senior vice president, Rick Bergman, teased crowds at Taiwan's Computex Expo yesterday with a new processor, codenamed Trinity. This processor is the next intended step in AMD's high-end processor line, namely the Bulldozer cored “Zambezi” chips which will be released later this month. While little information was released concerning the new Trinity Chip, it was reveled to be based on the same Bulldozer core, which supports between 2 and 8 cores, and will be compatible with the newest AM3+ socket. The chip will vary significantly however, in that it will be the first high-end processor to be classified as one of AMD's much touted Fusion APUs, since it will carry a graphics processor on-die as well. The GPU will be the first on-die graphics controller to support DX11.
